A proposed $15 million class-action settlement could provide cash payments and debt cancellation to eligible Bright Lending borrowers across the country.
Did you borrow from Bright Lending between October 1, 2020, and June 4, 2026?
Did you fully repay at least one of those loans?
You may qualify for a cash payment.
And here's something I particularly like.
If you qualify, you don't even have to file a claim.
Payments are supposed to be automatic after the court gives final approval and the settlement becomes effective.
Eligible cash payments will be at least $15, and some borrowers may receive more depending on how much alleged unlawful interest they paid above their loan principal and the available settlement funds.
Still owe Bright Lending money on a loan taken out between October 1, 2020, and December 31, 2024?
You may qualify to have that outstanding balance CANCELED.
And there's another benefit worth knowing about.
Under the proposed agreement, Bright Lending will ask consumer reporting agencies to delete negative credit-report entries associated with loans covered by the settlement.
That's a request for deletion, not a guarantee that every credit bureau will remove every entry.
There are eligibility rules. Nevada and Utah residents are excluded from the settlement classes. And the settlement still requires final court approval.
But this is absolutely worth checking.
